About the School of Humanities & Social Science

The Atharva School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers a dynamic and interdisciplinary learning environment for students who want to understand people, societies, cultures, communication, and the changing world around them. Our programmes combine strong academic foundations with practical exposure, critical thinking, research, creativity, and real-world engagement. Students explore diverse areas such as psychology, sociology, literature, media, communication, public policy, culture, and human behaviour. Applicants who have completed an M.Phil. Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade are also eligible to apply.

Dr. Priyanka Pandey, Head, School of Humanities & Social Sciences (SHSS), Atharva University, is an accomplished academician, psychologist, counsellor, researcher, and academic leader. With a Ph.D. in Psychology and 15+ years of teaching and academic leadership experience, she has extensive expertise in counselling, academic administration, curriculum development, student mentoring, research, and institutional leadership. She has 30+ research publications in areas including Clinical Psychology, Indian Psychology, Psychotherapy, Positive Psychology, Yoga, and holistic well-being. Her contributions have been recognised through the Rizvi Icon, Shikshan Ratan Samman, Mother Teresa Indian Excellence Award, Times of India Best Principal Award, and other academic honours.
Dr. Veena Kasabe is an accomplished academician, teacher educator, and researcher with a Ph.D. in Education and 6 years of higher education experience. She specialises in Education, Teacher Education, Educational Research, and Assessment. She holds M.Ed., B.Ed., M.Sc. (Endocrinology), B.Sc. (Zoology), NET (Education), PG Diploma in Forensic Sciences, and PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights. She has served as Assistant Professor at the University of Mumbai’s CDOE and Oriental College of Education & Research. She has contributed to 10+ Self-Learning Materials, presented research at international conferences, and published in UGC-CARE-listed journals. Her interests include innovative teacher education, research, assessment, and meaningful learning.

I am a Communication and Media Educator MH-SET Qualified with extensive academic experience in teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and academic leadership. Over the 8 years, I have taught subjects across communication, mass media, electronic media, advertising, consumer behaviour, and related areas, with a strong focus on connecting theory with contemporary media practices. My academic journey has also involved student mentoring, faculty coordination, curriculum planning, industry-oriented initiatives, and department-level responsibilities. I am passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that develop students’ communication skills, critical thinking, confidence, creativity, and industry readiness. I believe education is not merely about imparting knowledge—it is about empowering students to discover their potential and create meaningful careers.
