Dr. Ramesh Kulkarni is an accomplished academic leader, researcher, and educator with over 34 years of teaching and research experience in Electronics and Communication Engineering. His academic journey reflects a deep commitment to quality education, innovation, and institution building.

He earned his PhD from NIT Rourkela for his work on novel restoration techniques for images corrupted with high-density impulsive noise, contributing valuable insights in the field of digital image processing. His postgraduate and undergraduate degrees were completed with distinction from Karnataka University and Mysore University respectively.

Over the years, Dr. Kulkarni has served in multiple academic and administrative roles including Professor, Associate Professor, Dean (Infrastructure), Deputy Head of Department, and Chairman of Departmental Advisory Board at VES Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He has been instrumental in driving NBA and NAAC accreditation processes, developing modern academic infrastructure, and introducing technology-driven academic reforms.

An active researcher, Dr. Kulkarni has supervised 4 PhD scholars, over 90 M.E dissertations, and 120+ undergraduate projects. His research work includes more than 35 international journal publications and 30+ papers presented at national and international conferences, covering domains such as image processing, signal processing, machine learning, and digital communication.

He is a life member of ISTE and a senior member of the International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT). He has also contributed to academic governance as a member of the Board of Studies and Research and Recognition Committees of the University of Mumbai.

Dr. Kulkarni is deeply committed to fostering academic excellence, interdisciplinary research, and holistic student development. His vision as Vice Chancellor is to promote innovation-led learning, strengthen industry-academia collaboration, and build a university ecosystem that nurtures creativity, ethics, and global competence.
